Day 1558 – Rain

Hours of Daylight – 15:36

These past two weeks the weather has been more like Seattle or Portland, Oregon. Soaking downpours that seem to never end. Then the roads dry off only to be wet down again later in the day. Not good for the newbie motorcylist.

So the big black beast has come back from the shop. Yes, my giant motorcycle is once again perched on its sidestand out in front of the apartment. The ride is vastly improved seeing as how the bike now tracks a curve rather than wandering toward the outside of a curve.

This is sort of a confluence: the bike is back, Annette is leaving for another meeting, this time in DC, and the weather looks reasonably promising for at least one day of the weekend. It seems i will simply have to go riding.

I’ve registered and paid for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s “Basic Rider Course” which will kick off on June 28th. I’m hoping the class turns out to be a real challenge that teaches some useful, non-obvious, tricks to safer riding.
