Well, i had hoped to open this entry differently. In fact, i had hoped to say “deal’s done, we’re moving to Maine.” Or, Baltimore. Either would do.

Two minutes of daylight have been lost since yesterday. That trend will accelerate as we head towards the equinox then slow once again as we return to winter. I love cycles. That’s another aspect of living near the 45th parallel i’m going to miss: four distinct seasons.

Another good part about living here that i’ll miss is the network of bicycle trails set up all around The Cities and extending out into the countryside via former rail road right-of-ways.
