Day 438 – Catchup

Hours of Daylight – 15:28

These are the long days of summer in Boise. But fortunately we’re getting loads of rain. It’s official: i prefer overcast/rainy/moody weather over constant sunshine. I would rather live in a place that’s predominantly cloudy/rainy with breaks of sunshine than one that is mostly sunny with the odd day of rain here and there. Of course, since buying the VW Camper, Annette and i have rarely used our tent. If we were still avid tent campers i’d probably be less a fan of the ongoing rainy days. So how about we live in a rainy place, but vacation someplace sunny. That works.

I’m still working at the Power Company. I’m currently doing half-days. It has worked out ok so far, but it can’t continue. I’ve got applications in for a full-time web job at BSU, and i plan to ramp up the job search once again. Since i’m technically employed by a temp agency i suppose i could simply alert "my" agency that i’m looking for something full time an they might go to work for me. I’ve got a bunch of work to do for Annette’s center not to mention a host of web stuff for BSU… so the fact i’m not doing either of those things at the moment is entirely my problem.

What am i doing instead of working? Well, watching episodes of the new "Battlestar Galactica"on my computer that i’ve purchased from iTunes. Seriously, i’m hooked, i can’t not watch when i’m home.

Plans: In a week we leave for Seattle for a brief vacation. It’s a working trip for Annette, but we’ve got tickets to see Seu Jorge, so it’ll be fun, too. I fly back on Saturday or Sunday but Annette stays for a meeting. Haven’t been to Seattle in a long time… i’m sure much has changed since we were last there.

After Seattle we will finalize plans for the great "Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier and Eastern Idaho" excursion. Still planning on taking up to two weeks and doing a big loop. We are more certain than ever we won’t be here all that much longer, so we need to see all we can and decide if this is where we’ll try to stay, or decide this was yet another in a series of stops and we must focus on what comes next.
