I simply hate ms windows. It is an OS that is bad on nearly every level one can imagine. If i were forced to use windows for my job i would change jobs in an instant. The idea of dealing with something i despise so much on a daily basis would simply destroy my quality of life.

This is on my mind because yesterday my boss finally relented and decided to buy himself a new iMac for work. He’d be using an aging eMac (yes, eMac) for some time and it had finally had hardware issues. The new iMacs are desktop sculpture, they are tools as works of art. They are also kick-ass computers that run windows better than peecees run windows. I’m hoping OIT can come over today and install the requisite business software (Word et. al.) so he can begin using the computer… i’m hoping it will improve his quality of life.

Oh, in other news Lewis & Clark sent me a reimbursement check as i knew they would. I’m not blowing smoke when i say the campus, the calibre of the students, the location, and the mission of L&C are all very best of breed. I feel pretty good about myself that i was even granted an interview. But i remain confident in my decision… it was not the right job for me. Years ago a collegue/boss told me “well, some people are more comfortable in the stockyards, some are more comfortable on the trading floor, and some are more comfortable in the executive office.” I’m just more of a “stockyard” guy.
