Day 958 – Must. Clean. And Another Crash

I just got back from a short ride up to Lucky Peak to have a look at the water level and see what, if anything, was going on. As i passed the lower park area the car ahead of me suddenly slowed. We continued to round the lower bend and i saw why he had slowed: flares. The left lane was closed. An ambulance and several stopped cars were all lined up on inside lane against the cliff wall. A bicyclist was standing at the door of the ambulance looking inside. I saw two very expensive road bicycles, neither looked like it had been in a crash. I kept going.

Months earlier this very spot had been the scene of a motorcycle crash where the rider died. Both that crash and this more recent bicycle crash occurred during good weather, in daylight. The section of road is three lanes wide, two up, one down. It curves as it ascends, but compared to the twisties only about 30 miles further north this section is straight and dull. Time to watch the news again, see if there’s a story.

I need to do some serious cleaning around this place. I’ve been geeking out way too much and letting the cat-fur-tumbleweeds get a bit out of hand.My intention to clean is genuine, but i’ve been finding simply too many distractions that have thwarted my attempt to chisel out “an hour for the floor, and an hour for the kitchen, and 20 minutes for the downstairs bathroom” etc. Or at least that’s what i tell myself.

Mora has a new spot to lurk and observe.

Where’s Mora?

Ok, now cleaning… at least the furnace filter and the stove and the sink… that’ll be a good start.
