Day 993 – Travel Accomplished

Made it to JFK only about 30 minutes late!

It is indeed possible to go from JFK to the end of the D line in the Bronx for $7, but one needs to be prepared to invest at least an hour and a half with lugging of luggage up and down subway stairs.

I’ve got a rental car reserved starting Monday… so we’ll train back to the airport and get the car… then i’ll drop it on Monday when i fly out… saves a boatload of money renting just the week.

We just did “the shopping” on Bainbridge ave…. it is such a pleasure to go into butcher shops here… so freakin’ civilized and even the ghetto grocery here has pasta in more shapes and sizes than any store in idaho.

Tonight it’s Mr. Aaron Sorkin’s play “The Farnsworth Invention” and probably dinner out somewhere.

And, while i was checking email i noticed an update from Smart USA, the folks who are bringing the Smart Car to this rather dumb country. Checking the dealership map i couldn’t help noticing a certain pattern to the placement of the dealerships. Sure, population density is probably the largest factor, but i still can’t help but think of the shaded regions as “dumb.”
