I’m probably way late to the party, but the flash movie available from the graphic at left is pretty cool. Sure it’s high on fear and low on numbers, but the key point is valid. I mean, DUH! our planet’s resources are finite. Yes there are mechanisms at work that cleanse the ecosystem, and yes there is a degree of elasticity to all the processes she enumerates, but the central theme of our current situation being based on production and consumption as unsustainable cannot be ignored.

I learned a short while ago my liver function is a bit, uh, whacked. Two decades of ethanol combined with high cholesterol have begun to catch up to me.

So, no ethanol for a month… repeat the blood work, look for positive change in the liver enzyme numbers.

Losing 60 pounds would be helpful, too.
