Day 1091 – Aperture 2.1 & WordPress 2.5

Buoy, Version 2
My heartfelt thanks go to Apple and the Aperture team. A scant two months after the last release they have pushed out version 2.1 that opens the door to a reasonably open plug-in architecture. This plug-in set up includes the most sought after tool (by me anyway) dodge & burn.

That’s the good news. The not so good news is the way the tool is implemented. To invoke this tool Aperture generates a new version of the image and flags it with the same badge as an image edited with an external editor. I need to do some more experimenting to see what this really means…. especially if i elect to edit a dodged image in photoshop and then bring it back into Aperture… we shall see.

And hot on the heels of Aperture i was pleasantly surprised to also find WordPress 2.5 has been unleashed. I’ve already downloaded and upgraded this instance… all without so much as a burp. I’m going to quickly upgrade all my other instances that i’m currently hosting for friends and clients as the interface changes are largely welcome… and i hope will aid me in my goal of using WP for various publishing tasks at my current j-o-b.
