Day 1116 – One Thing

The late, great, Jack Palance described the concept of “one thing” most convincingly in the pretty good movie “City Slickers.” Sure it was Hollywood production both manipulative and predictable, but that’s ok since it doesn’t dilute the point i’m trying to make, just sugarcoats it.

Annette and i find ourselves, yet again, at a crossroads. We have almost none of the usual factors weighing on our decision. No family, no attachment to place, no predominant employment factor, no clear cut reason to choose A or B. We seem to know only what we don’t want in this life. We seem to make our decisions by what sucks less. Or perhaps we’re just lazy and selfish.

So what is our one thing? What is our a priori guide? Fuck all if i know.

Below are three photos from our most recent Beacon excursion. By the time we decide what we want this place will probably be gone.
