Day 1189 – 4th of July

As Ms. Aimee Mann observers, today’s the 4th of July. Another June has gone by. And i can’t stop mucking with a local install of wordpress running on an old xserve at my office at BSU. The house is a mass of clutter, there’s pruned remnants scattered about outside, but I’m getting better and better at tweaking wordpress styles and themes.

When i say “better” it is of course a relative measure since i started from essentially zero. But my goal of dragging the communications & marketing department of BSU into… oh, maybe 2001, is still in my sights. However, if i keep up this behavior, i run the risk of inspiring an intervention by my coworkers.

Eh, maybe not. I wouldn’t say they don’t care, but it wouldn’t be far off the mark. I’ve simply become a WordPress junkie. I wonder if there’s a call for custom wordpress wrangler/designer/janitors out there somewhere.

What will i do to honor this occasion of the “birth” of our country? Not entirely sure. There is a rumor large amounts of explosive will be set off later from two different locations. One is an easy walk and easier bike ride from my house. However if the locals are setting off lots of fire-emitting doodads i suppose it might be in my best interest to stay near the house on the off-chance something alights on the roof, or worse and more likely, in the spruce tree.

Ok… must… step away… from computer.
