Day 1272 – How McCain Could Win

Only moments into the debates i realized why McCain just might win the coming election: he is, at his center, preaching that America is still the best, strongest, loved-by-god, damn finest place on the planet. We still rule the world in all things, and we are simply the best people ever to walk this earth. It matters not that his arguments are self-serving, his facts are largely incorrect, his diction rarely transcends high-school level.

Obama is cool, critical, smart, well-spoken, well-reasoned. He is smarter than i am. He is, by many measures, far better than i am. McCain is also smarter than i am, but his focus is purely on the political and maintaining the status quo.

“The future is a boot, stamping on a human face” said Orwell. McCain’s world is that future. Obama’s future at least hints at a world where humans are elevated.

Featured video grab taken from some random point during The New York Times live feed, which stalled for a few minutes, but was otherwise flawless.
