Day 1813/17 – Another Safe Return

If anybody out there harbors a hankering to buy coastal property, now is the time. It’s pretty much all for sale. Of course how one would go about making a living on the coast is anybody’s guess.

Here’s another smattering of photos:

I simply love coasts. Maybe this is due to my growing up on the east coast and spending a great deal of time on the water. Long Island Sound was sort of a playground for me so i never thought of the boundary where land meets water as a limit; just as a place to change vehicles.

Since i didn’t bring a boat with me on this trip i spent most of my time photographing the stuff of the shore. Many times the plants of the coastal cliffs are unique to the singularly harsh environment. If the plants aren’t unique then almost certainly the way they live, in clumps and colonies, usually is. My increasing interest in patterns and textures feeds on the plant life of the pacific coast.

And i like seagulls, too.
