Yep, just made a successful real-time, real-weather flight in the Super Cub from Bend via route 97 to K-Falls (particularly gray) where i took on some extra fuel, then beat the gathering clouds over the hump to Ashland. The flight between Klamath Falls and Ashland is in stark contrast to the drive. The flight is super quick and can be done in a straight line. Once clear of the hills the approach to Ashland Muni was a piece of cake.

No, i don’t need counseling. I realize this was all done using a simulator. But having soloed in a Cessna 152 and garnered some stick time in a 182 as well as a Piper Cherokee and a little right seat time in Piper Navajo has given me a certain awareness of actual flight in small planes. What would have made it more realistic? Well, a seat the bounced all over place when i encountered some turbulence would be nice.
