Day 762 – New Years Day Drive

We decided to see something new for New Years Day: Applegate Lake. I had no idea it was an Army Corps of Engineers project, i thought it was, you know, a lake.

The reservoir has been drained down in preparation for the spring melt much like Lucky Peak in Idaho is drained. I was always amazed how quickly it filled back up as the outflow was adjusted and the docks lying over a hundred feet above the water went back to floating. We’re planning a return trip in spring to see the reservoir full.
