Day 1,411 – Never Dull

We knew it would mean a level of upheaval as yet theoretical, but now theory has dovetailed with reality.

As Nick and Amanda said “we simply append ‘because we have twins’ to every sentence and it all makes sense.” For me and Annette the sentence is “because we have a puppy.”

No i’m not drawing an equivalence between raising twins (plus a previous child) and raising a puppy, but there are similarities. The puppy’s teeth are sharper than the twins at last check.

But the real topic is Mora. Several days back Annette noticed she had come home and gone into the closet in Annette’s office and not come back out. This is actually fairly normal for Mora, but it was pushing 12 hours in the closet.

By hour 24 we knew something was amiss. Most worrisome was she had not had any significant water in as much as 24 hours. We whisked her to the vet this morning.

Turns out there was nothing clearly amiss the vet could find. Blood work revealed no problems, there were no visible wounds. So later after some rehydration and special food (some of which had to be forced-fed) she was free to be returned to us.

The diagnosis: unknown. Evidence suggests some kind of trauma… not enough to break the skin, but enough to cause internal bruising.

Bruising that might have been caused by an rambunctious puppy. We’re going to assume the puppy is the culprit and proceed accordingly.
