So the other day I was in my local convenience store. I overheard a conversation loosely based on the situation brewing in Arizona.

I decided to wade in: “You’ve got the ‘We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone’ sign. How’s that different?”

“It’s simple, that sign’s there so if you’re being a dick we can kick your ass to the curb. What those dumb ass politishuns are doing in dumb ass Arizona is singling out people who might or might not be dicks. See, what do i care if you’re a camel jockey who likes cock but you’re not acting a dick when spending money in my store?”

Couldn’t have said it better my own self. I suppose capitalism can be a force for common sense, if not good, at times and at small scales.

Reminds me of the line in Lone Star where the white guy dating the black woman explains “her parents were so glad i was a guy they probably didn’t even notice i was white.” And his friend replies “always heartwarming to see one prejudice beat out by another prejudice.”
