Hours of Daylight – 10:06

Snow is falling outside my office window as i type this. It is the first snowfall in the Cities of this winter. One might think I’d be used to seeing snow, but the first snowfall of the season is always a small thrill for me.

The fact that the snow tires are not yet on the wheels of my car adds a bit of worry, but the ground is still too warm for the snow to stick so i should be able to drive with reasonable directional accuracy.

I’ve not made an entry for over a month. This is partially due to there not being any key events for thoughts and words to crystalize around. I could blather on about Apple releasing OS X.3, but in retrospect the release of the new OS is almost a non-event. Sure there is new eye candy, and there was the inherent angst of reformatting my laptop’s drive… plus a good amount of swearing as applications failed spontaneously. But less than a week since installing i’m back up and running fine.

I suppose the other big news of the past month is that I received the final settlement of my mom’s estate. It’s not like i hit the lottery like those 16 cafeteria women in outstate Minnesota. Granted it is ten year’s worth of my Ordway salary, but that’s not saying much. It’s not enough money to change my life, but it’s too much to just bank and forget about. It is certainly enough to get us out of the Twin Cities when the time comes.

The snow continues to fall outside… it is very beautiful.
