Day 249 – Nowhere

Hours of Daylight – 9:08

In terms of regular employment i remain nowhere. I no longer hold out any hope for a call-back from any of the jobs i’ve interviewed for. Time to start over. The good news is BSU wants me back for a repeat performance of Adjunct Instructor for HLTHINFO 120 – online section. The better news is students who are finishing the current semester are handing in final evals and are saying very nice things about the course and the way I handled it. That’s a tasty ego-biscuit.

We’ve had some snow here in the banana belt of Idaho and we’ve had some good low temps. But our coldest nights are still above some of the temps to hit Minneapolis in the past few weeks. As i said to one of my friends from Minneapolis, i do like winter, i really like the seasons, but i don’t miss the sub-zero temps. Single digits for lows, teens and twenties for daytime highs. That’s what we’ve got here in on the sort-of-high-desert of Idaho.

Mora_fenceThe cats are still going out every morning. At right is Mora, perched on the back fence in what is normally Isa’s post. She’s developed a winter coat that would make a snow hare jealous. Both cats perch on the fence and glower at the world. Flocks of small birds gather all around on the bare lilac branches and chirp at the cats, but the cats don’t make any aggressive moves toward the birds. It has become the routine.
