You must always render aid to anybody in need. It’s also a good idea to carry rope, chain, a shovel, a large jack, and possibly a winch. And always assume snow is deeper than it looks.

Since coming to Idaho one lesson i’ve learned time after time is one can never underestimate the backcountry. Once you leave the pavement in this part of the world you do so at your own risk and you’d best be prepared for any number of possibilities.
